gorgeous work from 19-yr old illlustrator cherri wood. these pieces are currently on display in a group show, some kind of wonderful, at gallery 1988 in san francisco. the subtle gestures in the subjects and seemingly random marks and splatters have me imagining a swirly storm of activity just before the paint quietly formed images and settled into these beautiful arrangements. really, really beautiful (click on images to view details).
