the brain ~ a stunning "cinematic laboratory" filmmaker's studio in seattle, designed by tom kundig of olson sundberg kundig allen architects. the form is a 14,000 cubic foot cast-in-place concrete box, with a steel mezzanine inserted into the north wall, and all interior structures are made using raw, hot-rolled steel sheets. and the details are just incredible...the fireman's pole, what appears to be a mechanical pulley system for the lighting, the stairs (!). beautiful, beautiful project.
