another wonderful project from the fabulous ontwerpduo: during the dutch design week 2008, an empty, old house was turned into (an) exhibition space. by initiative of atelierdorp 'el porron' was created...in a setting of an 'old-fashioned' bedroom. i adore this project, and it reminds me of my grandmother helen. she had a way of displaying accessories that always intrigued me. and this was very much her color palette, but with a splash of additional color here and there. i vividly recall the way the light shone through the windows, on her whitewashed wooden floors. this could easily be her bedroom. except that she would have also had on display a kitschy japanese lamp (that my father sent her while stationed in asia) which, as it rotated mechanically, would have projected a beautiful show of color and pattern on the wall.
