Google Chrome has grown at the expense of competitors

Popularity of web browser Google Chrome has grown in February, 2010 with 5,22 to 5,61%, writes ZDNet, referring on report Net Applications. In total from the beginning of year the web browser share has grown for one percent.

Microsoft Internet Explorer has lowered positions

The share of web browser Microsoft Internet Explorer has decreased for 0,5% in comparison with last month and has made 61,58%. Popularity Firefox has fallen with 24,41 to 24,23%, the share of web browser Apple Safari has made 4,45 in comparison with January 4,51%, and Opera — 2,35% (2,38% in January).

It is interesting, that in February popularity of browser Netscape has grown more than twice and has made 0,75%. Company AOL has officially stopped support Netscape since March, 1st, 2008.

Monthly supervision over users

The results received Net Applications, are based on monthly tracing of calling of 160 million unique users on 40,000 sites. These data are corrected by analysts depending on Internet audience size in each country.

In the beginning of March company Microsoft will start to send to users of OS Windows in Europe system updating in which will offer possibility to instal on a choice one of 11 popular browsers alternatively Internet Explorer. This measure is accepted Microsoft at the initiative of Eurocommission and can lead to the further decrease in a share of browser Microsoft.
